2017 UC Staff Engagement Survey

  • Sponsored by Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) and UC Human Resources

  • Administered by Willis Towers Watson using their standard questions and analysis

  • Repeat of 2015 survey; report includes comparisons with prior UC survey and national norms

  • Sample of non-represented Staff invited to complete survey in May 2017

  • 64% response rate for ANR (second highest among all UC locations). 234 individuals responded.

Key Results for ANR  

  • 36 questions covering eight general categories related to employee engagement

  • Improved in 6 out of 8 categories compared to ANR 2015

    • Most improved: Performance Management, Career Development, Communication

    • Most declined: Working Relationships

  • Below US National Norm in most categories

    • Least favorable: Organizational Change, Performance Management, Career Development

  • Overall engagement at 71 percent, up 3 points from 2015
